Jump on the wagon and start making apps yourself; here's how! We'll talk about forming your own small business and the benefits of being an LLC (Limited Liability Corporation). We'll also have an iPhone applications expert show you how to develop a simple application, and then we'll introduce you to the Interdisciplinary Design Collaborative (IDC), a student run business that specializes in iPhone applications. The neuromuscular system quickly adapts to stressors and loads, and must be challenged differently for gains in strength, flexibility and balance to continue. • One of the best ways to keep your body and mind functioning at its best is to exercise. Regular exercise improves physical, emotional and mental health. Participation in regular strengthening exercises will help you to build muscle and increase bone density. This helps to prevent frailty and osteoporosis. These types of exercises are easy to learn, safe, and effective. People benefit from strength training in many ways. Some benefits people experience include arthritis relief, improved balance, enhanced flexibility, weight control, stress reduction, decreased depression, reduction in risk for heart disease and help with maintenance of healthy blood sugar levels. The great thing about the Stay Strong Stay Healthy exercises is that most people can do them. They are great if you are 29 or 89 years old. You change the amount of weights you use to make it work for your individual needs. Many people report they can tell they have increased strength or flexibility after just three weeks of doing the exercises. The Stay Strong, Stay Healthy program will be offered at St. Patrick’s Church, located a half a mile north on Route H, Greenfield. Classes will be held on Tuesday afternoons, September 29 thru December 8 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Class will not be held on October 6. • Gardening is the most popular hobby in the U.S. There is a growing awareness both among the general public and health professionals of the importance of plants to the physical and psychological well being of people. In addition to aesthetically improving the environment around the home, planting of turf, trees, shrubs, perennials and flowers reduces energy costs, provides exercise and a sense of accomplishment and adds value to the home. Fresh fruits and vegetables produced in home gardens are a healthy supplement to the diets of many Missourians. Gardening also fulfils a need on the part of people several generations removed from the farm to work with the soil.

Program exercises are low-impact and can be done seated or standing. This program is NOT for people who regularly exercise or are experienced in strength training. Over ten weeks you will increase your strength and improve your balance. After the ten weeks are over you can continue the simple strength training program with a group at your center. Weights will be available on site and trained staff and volunteers will help you learn and do these exercises safely. Stay Strong, Stay Healthy Sessio
