  • 9:00 AM   Government Marketing Fundamentals
  • Learn about the services of the Procurement Technical Assistance Center and the proper direction to turn in pursuing government contracts. This orientation seminar will introduce you to the PTAC program and break down the government marketing process into smaller segments to help better understand the different levels of government. You will learn government marketing fundamentals, primary considerations, types of businesses, core requirements, certification processes and procedures, government marketing research strategies, determinants of selling potential, and how to find out which agencies buy from you in the various facets of federal, state, and local government. If your company has considered or is presently doing business with the government, you will not want to miss this informative presentation.

  • 9:00 AM   Step Up to Leadership!
  • Through 12 sessions, Step-Up to Leadership! • Presents content learning about specific topics a novice board member will need to know • Provides a learning environment where participants can develop self-awareness and enhance their understanding about human nature and relationships. • Builds capacity of community-minded people wanting to make a difference; willing to assume the responsibilities of board membership; seeking understanding about group processes and the complexities of collaboration; and are ready to take on the challenge of leadership. The program was developed collaboratively and piloted with the Missouri Community Action Agencies. It is also being used by the CAAs to train board members and develop local leaders for community action.

  • 6:00 PM   Stay Strong, Stay Healthy
  • A strength training program for middle-aged and older adults. The programs goal is to improve health and quality of life. Exercise sessions to improve strength and balance include warm-up exercises, strengthening exercises and cool-down stretches. There are ten weeks of exercise sessions plus an orientation and pre-assessment session. The program concludes with a post-assessment during the last session.

  • 7:30 PM   Advanced Stay Strong, Stay Healthy
  • Builds on the fitness base acquired through the basic Stay Stong, Stay Health program by adding new, more conplex upper and lower body strength-training exercise, core exercises, balance movements and stretches. There are ten weeks of exercise sessions plus an orientation and pre-assessment session. The program concludes with a post-assessment during the last session.
